DESIGN PROCESS
Sarah's couture service begins with an initial consultation. Sarah will design a range of dresses based around the ideas discussed in this first meeting.
Once a design has been chosen Sarah will create a made to measure toile in calico. The process takes at least 4 fittings as the calico toile is constructed and re-constructed to refine the design and fit. Special finishes and embellishments, e.g. beading, print, and embroidery, are also decided upon.
When both Sarah and the client are completely happy with the design and fit of the garment, it will be cut and sewn in the actual fabric. One final fitting will then be carried out and any final fine alterations completed.
Ideally the whole process takes from 6-8 months, although it has been known for dresses to be made in as little as 3 weeks!
For London based clients, home fittings can be arranged.
